Corona -Virus
You’ve likely heard about the Coronavirus in the news. We know you may have questions about this, so we wanted to help answer them.
First, know that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that the risk in the U.S. is still low. While there’s no vaccine for the coronavirus (COVID-19), there are steps you can take to keep from getting it.
What can I do about it?
Like any virus-based illness, the best way to prevent it is not to be exposed to it. But these common-sense tips can help prevent the spread of this and other illnesses, including the flu:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water
- Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough
- Stay home if you’re sick
- Contact your doctor’s office if you think you’re sick
What if I get sick?
If you need medical care, call your doctor’s office and describe your symptoms. Some medical groups offer 24-hour nurse advice lines for after-hours calls
Will your Insurance Pay for your Visit?
If your doctor or other healthcare provider orders a COVID-19 test, they will cover it. Related care would be covered under your plan benefits (unless otherwise determined by state law or regulation).
Stay in the know.
